From a very young age, David always knew that he wanted to be a lawyer and his entire educational focus was on achieving that goal. David graduated from Norwalk High School [the Truckers!] in 1984. Because he had a severe stutter, he decided to focus on a non-traditional major for those intending to become lawyers – Communication. He attended the University of Dayton where he majored in Communication Management along with a minor in Philosophy. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from UD in 3 years. He initially was going to attend Wake Forest Law School but decided to stay at home when he learned of his mother’s cancer diagnosis and attended THE Ohio State University College of Law in Columbus, Ohio. While a law student, he clerked for Wagner and Wagner in Sandusky, Ohio and then Clark and Perdue in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated with Honors from Ohio State in 1990 fulfilling his childhood goal and becoming the first in his family to become a lawyer. His first job as a lawyer was working for George Sarap in Columbus. He then formed a partnered with his friend to form Bressman and Sotak. In 1997, David hung out his own shingle and practices, now, with several lawyers including his oldest son Jedidiah. David married Karen in 1992 and around 1998 Karen became his full-time paralegal. David’s sole focus is helping injury victims.
